("Coach Pedro")
WideWorld Sports Center is proud to announce that in an effort to continue
to bring the best services and opportunities to our patrons, we have
recently added another member to our already impressive staff.
Pedro Rita, has been brought on staff to serve
as the new “Director
of Soccer Development.” Pedro, or “Coach Pedro” as
he is known by all of the parents and kids he has already worked with,
is a former professional soccer player in Brazil and holds a USSF “A” coaching
license. Pedro holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and a Master
of Science in Education. Pedro has been coaching youth soccer for more
than 11 years and prior to becoming the Director of Soccer Development,
he was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach for Niagara County Community
College. In addition to all of his coaching experience, Pedro brings
to this position both his vast knowledge and understanding of the game
of soccer, as well as all of his experiences playing at the top level
in Brazil, a country known for its soccer prowess.
Prior to settling down in Ann Arbor, Pedro worked
various soccer clinics and camps across the United States, including
his work with the World Soccer Academy and the Vogelsinger Soccer Academy.
As the Director of Soccer Development, it will be Pedro’s responsibility to develop,
administer and oversee all of WideWorld’s Instructional Clinics
and Camps. This will include the clinics and camps that WideWorld already
offers as well as new opportunities that are currently being developed
for both youth and adult players to enhance their skills.
Every year, soccer keeps growing both in Ann Arbor
and the surrounding communities and with it, comes the growing desire
for more instructional opportunities for both youth and adult players.
WideWorld management feels by having “Coach Pedro” part
of the WideWorld staff, we will be able to continue to provide the
best services and opportunities for our patrons and continue to met
