Soccer DrillsWorld Wide Soccer Drill #2 Here is a good way to work on passing accuracy, proper pacing in passing and some fitness. Groups of 2 with 4 balls and 2 One Step Goals (or small goals one yard wide) in a 40 x 10 grid. See diagram below for set up.
The X's go toward the other end line and receive a ball from one of the servers and from 10 yards out they pass the ball first time into the One Step Goal. They then sprint to the other side and do the same. This is working on passing accuracy and also proper pacing of the passes by the servers. See diagram below.
Each pair in the middle goes at full speed for 90 seconds and then rotate into a servers position for the next two turns. You can do this as a competition where each player keeps track of how many goals they score by passing the ball. The X's have to go at full speed from one side to the other (approximately 10 yards) and then slow down to compose themselves for accurate passing into the one yard wide goal. The servers are working on passing the ball properly with the correct pacing so that the ball gets to the X's as they get 10 yards out and it's hit easy enough that it's an easy ball to handle.
